IFS and the Body

Day 1: Tracking the Language of the Body

The first day focuses on building the foundational skills of embodied tracking and recognizing the physical presence of our internal system.

  • The Somatic Language of Parts: We will explore how parts show themselves through physical changes, such as a shift in posture, a tightening of the chest, or a change in breathing patterns.

  • Tracking Embodied Signals: Participants will learn how to gently notice and track these signals in real-time to support parts in feeling seen and understood.

  • Nervous System Patterns: We will begin to identify protective patterns held within the nervous system, understanding how the body holds onto history and how it can be invited into a state of safety.

  • Guided Practices: Through structured exercises, you will begin to invite a more conscious connection between your Self and your embodied parts.

Day 2: Deepening Attunement and Healing

On the second day, we focus on using somatic awareness as a tool for unblending and creating the necessary conditions for deep internal healing.

  • The Power of Slowing Down: We will practice the art of slowing down and bringing mindful attention to sensation, which is essential for supporting the unblending process.

  • Building Trust with Protectors: You will learn how somatic awareness helps build trust with protective parts, allowing them to relax their hold as they feel the presence of Self-energy in the body.

  • Practitioner and Client Perspectives: A significant portion of the day is dedicated to practising in pairs or small groups. This allows you to experience the work from both perspectives, honing your skills as a practitioner while deepening your own personal internal connection.

  • Integration and Reflection: We will conclude with reflective discussions to integrate the somatic insights gained over the two days into your professional practice.
